50 New Uses for Old Things

Here are a few of my favorites. Go HERE to see all of the great ideas from Real Simple!
"Repurpose an old frame for a vanity tray that’s pretty as a picture. Place a piece of colored paper or fabric inside as a finishing touch."

"Forget unruly plastic bags that seemingly regenerate under your sink. An empty tissue box keeps them neatly corralled and ready for use."

"Who says a towel rack has to be the dedicated realm of, well, towels? Mounted over the kitchen sink, it can also hold a collection of cleansers."

Swimming in Coupons

I have a very good reason for not posting much this week! I know, I know. Excuses, excuses. This week I have been dedicated to organizing my coupons. I thought it was going to be easy, but it was such a daunting task! I spent hours upon hours being OCD...making sure each little coupon was in its perfect place. Our apartment was covered for a few days. Soon, I will be posting my COMPLETED coupon binder, and you can see all of my hard work :)

Weekend in Photos

This past weekend, we went to the car show at Christ United Methodist Church in Mobile.

We also visited Toby, my little brother.

He loves playing in the Bay.

And the sand.

Drying off.

Sad to be back in the house.

Get Organized!

Go HERE for some great organizing tips from Real Simple magazine (aka my favorite magazine in the ENTIRE world...if my life was a magazine, this would be it!)

Today's Project: Drawer Knobs

I bought a writing desk a while back at Seconds on Sage, a resale shop in Mobile. It was a great bargain! Below is the "after" picture. It was a boring, faded oak desk, so we painted it mahogany with a brown wood-looking color on top. I think it turned out pretty well...it kind of looks like it's blushing :) Anyway, I'm still going to fix it up a little more. I love these cute knobs from Anthropologie! I'm also going to line the drawers with some pretty scrapbook paper.

FYI--if you ever need scrapbook paper, always check Hudson's on Schillinger first. I've found several packs of Martha Stewart scrapbook paper there for just a few cents!
Another FYI--Seconds on Sage is having a 20/20 sale March 15-17. You get 20 items for $20! Go HERE for more details.

This one's also really cute! Maybe not for my desk, but we'll see :)

Today's Funny

Guinness World Records said Giant George from Arizona is the tallest dog ever on record, standing 3 feet, 7 inches tall from paw to shoulder. Giant George weighs 245 pounds. And you thought your dog could cause a catastrophe in the house. Imagine what Giant George could do!
